Let me preface this post by saying that I am a bad, bad mom. We just spent 5 days in NYC and I took no pictures! I'm not sure why - usually I have taken 10 pics of Noah before breakfast, but for some reason, I just didn't. And of course the one day I really wished I'd had it, I forgot it in our hotel...

Anyway!

We went to NYC to visit Belo and Susu - and had such a great time! Noah loved the bright lights of the big city - especially looking out the window at the city below! It was wonderful to be in the city, and we truly had a fabulous visit!!

Noah's friend Finn, and his mom and dad, came to visit us for the weekend! It was TONS of fun - for us parents, and for the little guys. The boys played together quite cutely -- picture Finn trying to touch a toy that Noah has... Noah pushing Finn's hand out of the way -- quite the bully I have! Julie and I know that Noah and Finn will be just as perfect as we were when they grow up...

We can't wait for our next visit with the Mannings... (in Vail, hint hint)

A gal from my mom's group is trying to get her photography portfolio in order, so we volunteered for a family photo shoot a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, we didn't love any of the "family photos" (all 4 of us) but there were still some cute shots of the little man!

Sunday was a beautiful day here, and the whole family took a hike through Aspen Vista -- a little late, many of the leaves had turned/fallen already, but it was pretty all the same!

Yesterday we went to the world's largest balloon festival -- Balloon Fiesta, in Albuquerque!

We started the morning off with a little role-reversal...WE woke up Noah at the bright and early hour of 5:25 am. He looked at me like I was a little crazy, but after a quick feed and outfit change (you simply can't wear your pj's to Balloon Fiesta!), he was back asleep in the car.

This was my first experience at the fiesta (Bill had gone once before, about 15 years ago...), and it was actually pretty darn cool! The number of balloons varies, due to participants, the economy, etc., and this year there were more than 600! We got to see about half of them asscend (well, we saw the first half from the car, sitting in the looooong line to exit the highway) ... it was pretty spectacular. They are huge!!

Noah, for his part, stayed warm snuggled up to Daddy, taking it all in.

Our friends, Nicole and Kurt, (from Seattle) were also in town, so we met up with them at the balloon park, and then headed to Nicole's mom's for brunch and mimosas.

Stinker Winker

The past few days, Noah has been quite the stinker during his afternoon meal! He thinks it's great fun to smear sweet potatoes and other vegetables around his tray, and subsequently all over his clothes, high chair, face, me and anything else within his grubby reach! It's cute though, so of course I don't mind.

He's still working on his crawling - getting a little closer (maybe?) but not there yet. Phew. He does push/scoot himself around backwards quite well...

It's been pretty quiet around here this week, hopefully the weekend brings lots of fun!

He can't quite figure it out yet! But he wants to so bad. He tries to get up on all fours, it's so cute, he grunts and works so hard -- he gets a little tuckered out and has to take a rest.

I can't believe it's October 1st - and my baby is going to be 7 months!! I think he wants to crawl. He can't quite figure it out yet - and believe me, I'm in NO rush for him to be mobile - but it's not for lack of trying. He just figured out how to push himself up, not quite onto all fours, but he's getting there! (I have a video of him, but it won't upload... I'll try in a separate post.)

We're excited for a fun month ahead and I know we'll have a lot to blog about!
